"The closet had an oatmeal type paper on over the / plaster everywhere except between some shelving. / Under that was some kind of paper so I investigated / and found I could remove the top layer and except / a round the edges it is just fine... For you I have enclosed the piece of oatmeal / paper as I took it off. It shows the nice morning / glory and chrysanthemum pattern of the underneath / paper." (Excerpted from letter from Margaret H. Holmes to Dorothy Waterhouse dated July 6, 1969.)
"The cost to-day for reproduction of the design found on / the reverse side of oatmeal paper from closet in the Day / House in Norwood, Mass. would be three hundred (300) dollars / for the art work, and fifteen (15) dollars for the finished / roll, each." (Letter of reply from Dorothy Waterhouse to Margaret H. Holmes dated January 28, 1970. Reiterates contents of Holmes original letter and gives quote to reproduce the floral pattern.)
