Description

Fragments of scenery figure wallpaper from Salem, Massachusetts. Several fragments of the same pattern are taped together. Swiss architectural figures frame scenic vignettes, one of a couple crossing a rustic timber bridge and the other of mountain goats on an outcrop of land with water, a village and mountains in the background. The water and mountains are colored using a rainbow effect, dark blue-green water fades to lighter green water to light blue mountains. Block-printed in black, three browns, three greens, peach, salmon, white, two blues and two grays on gray ground.
