Description

Wallpaper border fragments from South Wellfleet, Massachusetts. Flower and ribbon pattern. Pink and blue flowers are linked by ribbon festoons and bordered above and below by orange and yellow lines in a geometric pattern. Details of the border are not clear due to poor condition. Block-printed in orange, yellow, pink, and green varnish. White ground (now discolored) on handmade paper. Fragment D and E still attached to wallpaper (see 2001.281.507.1D-E).
