Description

Fragment of rainbow wallpaper from Johnston, Rhode Island. Large-scale rosette and quatrefoil pattern. The rosette figures have a floral center radiating lacy, veined leaf figures. The quatrefoil figures are composed of scrolling acanthus leaves. Block-printed in gray and white stripes. Pink, yellow and blue irisé ground with visible brush strokes.
