Two matching fragments of wallpaper from Bath, Maine. Pattern features motifs and naturalistic style of Japanese art popular with Aesthetic Movement designers. Cranes in flying and standing poses among a variety of flowering plants with a large tree branch or vine meandering back and forth across the design. Appears to have been block-printed in dark blue, pale pink or peach, two greens, gray and metallic copper on light blue ground.
