Series III. Clubs and organizations, 1897-1938, undated (#4.3, 4.5, 19.8, 34.1-37.7, C.2.19, C.3.8-C.3.14, C.3.20, OB.2.1-OB.2.3), contains material relating to the clubs and organizations in which Anna belonged (including the American Red Cross; Essex Institute (now the Peabody Essex Museum); Massachusetts Society of the Colonial Dames of America; Salem Female Charitable Society; Special Aid Society for American Preparedness (Salem branch); and the Thread and Needle Society of Salem) and highlights her activities during World War I (1914-1918). Included in the subseries is an American Red Cross armband and medal; annual reports; application forms; bank statements; check registers and deposit slips; Constitutions and bylaws; clippings; correspondence (some in French); fact cards regarding the flag of the United States of America; financial ledgers and other financial records; invitations; a magazine subscription notice; meeting attendance records; membership cards, certificates, files, and lists; notices for dues; pamphlets and other printed material; plans for a day camp; program materials; stationary; receipts; thank-you notes; treasurer's reports; etc. The subseries also contains a roster for Company H Regiment Massachusetts Infantry; material from the Busy Bees; the Cheerful Workers; and the Special Aid Society for American Preparedness (Lawrence branch, Massachusetts branch, and Salem Normal School branch in Salem, Massachusetts). The series is arranged in six subseries.
