Two copies of a reproduction of the July 4, 1863 edition of the Vicksburg, Mississippi newspaper, "The Daily Citizen." Due to paper shortages during the siege of Vicksburg, the newspaper was printed on wallpaper, which this replica copies. The wallpaper is printed with a small floral medallion pattern roller-printed in metallic gold, black, yellow, orange, light olive and mauve on a cream ground. The paper in embossed with a ribbed texture.
