Four unused samples of reproduction wallpaper in the "Governor Badger" pattern. Wallpaper has a Neoclassical medallion pattern featuring foliate, flower and star elements. Two colorways are present: gold and brown on a beige ground (2001.281.748.1) and yellow and orange on a dark blue ground (2001.281.748.2, .3, and .4). Pattern was reproduced by both Katzenbach and Warren and Waterhouse Wallhangings, Inc. Paper is based on a fragment from the Governor Badger House, Belmont, New Hampshire. Original paper was block printed from 1815-1830 and was either American or French.

"Governor Badger - Belmont, N.H. / Gov. gave $50 to hired man to drive to Portsmouth / to buy the paper. He returned without any paper / saying that the wind had blown away the money. So / the governor sent another one of his hired men who found paper / and returned with it.
