Description

Fragment of wallpaper border with pattern imitating brocade and gimp ribbon. Central band consisting of multi-color floral sprigs and undulating pale green vine with berries printed over vertical striping and edged with pink dots. An outer band of pink, yellow and green gimp and inner band of solid blue, run along upper and lower edges of border. The paper is embossed with a ribbed texture. Stripes of pink and blue are applied over the metallic green ground. Floral and gimp elements are block-printed over stripes and ground. Block-printed in black, two browns, three greens, pink, fuschia, yellow, two violets, and metallic silver. End of roll fragment, stamped "38" on front. Stamped "5337" on verso.
