One of three pastel portraits of the Sortwells. Framed in elaborately gilded rectangular wood and gesso frames, now glassed over. Portrait of woman with dark hair, parted in the center with curls. Sitter wears earrings, gold and possibly pearl necklace, and a black ribbon around her neck, black dress with white lace collar.
