The rug has a rectangular form with an oval reserve with a leopard; worked in shades of yellow, beige, white, pink and black. Within a flowering, leafy vine border with worked in shades of green, pink, red, white, brown/taupe and green wool fringe at the edge.

In Cherished Possessions 2003-2005: The hooked rug with its wonderful leopard is one of the quixotic pieces the Littles considered the most fun to live with. Nina Little wrote admiringly of the unconsciously humorous leopard sprawling nonchalantly in the center of the rug.When the Littles began collecting in the 1920s, hooked rugs were believed to be appropriately ancient. In fact, as Nina later learned, most were made in the late nineteenth century. Even so, she was pleased to note that fifty years after she had collected a number of them, they still give comfort to the feet and pleasure to the eye.
