Single rolled wallpaper border produced by Jacquemart et Bénard, Paris, France. White, stylized flowers with three blooms alternates with a single green leaf on pink ground. A white band of repeating geometric floral motifs runs above the primary pattern, a band with arches and stripe of cord printed in light blue, red and purple runs below it. Block-printed in white, two greens, black, gray, light blue, red and purple on pink ground. Wove paper in partial sheets. The border is identical to paper lining a Chinese tea box (1809-1811) given to Mary Latrobe by Dolley Madison. It is believed that the paper was also used to cover the walls of a parlor in the Madison White House.
