Description

Creamware pitcher. Polychrome transfer-printed design. Oval medallions depicting patriotic scenes featuring a memorial to George Washington and plans for Washington D.C.. A cartoon on the front shows John Bull and Napoleon pulling a cow by the horns and tail while Jefferson milks the cow. The image is a visual protest of Jefferson's 1807 embargo.
