Description

William and Mary style japanned high chest. The flat top has a full ogee molded cornice. The chest has two narrow drawers over three full width drawers with half-round drawer surround molding. The lower case has two square drawers and one central shallow drawer. The skirt is shaped with half circles. The ends have ogee arch cut-outs. There are six trumpet turned legs with bun feet. Flat stretchers connect the legs. The brass pulls and escutcheons are replacements. The japanned decoration on the fronts of the upper case drawers includes animals, human figures, garden scenes, and mythical creatures.
