Subseries A, Contracts, deeds, indentures, and stock certificates, 1716-1926 (#1.15-1.17, OB.1.5), contains contracts regarding the appointment of Elisha Doane (1762-1832) as a Justice of the Peace in Boston, Massachusetts; a legal document granting James Doane (dates unknown) power of attorney over the Boston, Massachusetts, property of Rebecca Adamson of Missouri (#1.16); a deed regarding the Fayweather property; stock certificates for the Stockbridge Casino Company, Incorporated; and other contracts, deeds, and indentures relating to the Doane family. Also included in the subseries is a 1927 letter detailing the sale of the Stockbridge casino property (#1.17). The subseries is arranged alphabetically by record type, and thereunder chronologically.
