Description

Subseries D, Printed material, 1784-1955 (#1.27, C.1.8-C.1.10, C.1.19, OB.2.7), contains printed material reflecting the Doane family's interest in genealogy. Included in the subseries is an 1849 pamphlet entitled, Excellency of the Righteous: A Discourse Occasioned by the Death of Honorable Elisha Doane, Who Died at Yarmouth, Massachusetts, October 8th, 1848 by Phineas Fish; a 1902 publication entitled, Doane Family and Their Descendants compiled by Alfred Alder Doane (including handwritten notes of names); a 1955 publication entitled, Families of the Pilgrims by Stephen Hopkins; and a 1950 publication entitled, Unknown Washington by Eleanor Cochran Reed (including a genealogical chart of the Washington family). Also contained within the subseries is a 1784 edition of the Independent Chronicle newspaper printed in Boston, Massachusetts, and a 1914 issue of the Stockbridge printed in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. The subseries is arranged chronologically.
