Description

Subseries B, Papers of Edward Anderson (1801-1867), 1812-1868, undated (#C.1.4-C.1.17), contains personal correspondence; legal documents; fire insurance policies and renewal papers from Farmers' and Mechanics' Mutual Fire Insurance Company; promissory notes; receipts for goods and services rendered; an 1868 pamphlet on the U.S. Senate impeachment opinion of President Andrew Johnson (U.S. President, 1865-1869); and clippings. The legal documents include probate records relating to the estate of a Robert Files for which Anderson was acting administrator; they also contain paperwork appointing Anderson guardianship over the children of John W. Goodell (dates unknown). The subseries is arranged alphabetically by record type, and thereunder chronologically.
