Partial roll of wallpaper with large-scale pattern of meandering branches bearing a variety of flowers and fruit. Birds fly among and perch on the branches. The pattern includes a small vignette of two people in Asian dress sitting near a pagoda. The paper is block-printed in black, blue, red, pink, green, two browns and yellow on light gray ground. The block-printed pigments appear to be colored varnishes. The paper is marked in the selvedge "Cretonne / Elite - Hand" with a lion logo. The paper was used as a model for the Waterhouse Wallpaper reproduction "Pillement" and shows pen marks and notations relating to the reproduction design. The fragment is the end of a roll.
