Description

Photo album titled: "Imported Chairs: Side Chairs, Chippendale Heppelwhite Adam Sheraton 2." Title is hand printed in black on front cover; title, subtitle and volume number are hand printed in black on spine. Album has a beige fabric covering and 34 dark gray pages, all of which are now loose. Five of the pages are blank. Album contains 34 mounted black-and-white photographs. Photographs are of a variety of chairs manufactured by A. H. Davenport Co., Irving and Casson, and their successor, Irving and Casson - A. H. Davenport Co. The styles of the chairs (including both side and arm chairs) are described by the compiler of the album as including: Chippendale, Heppelwhite [sic], Adam, and Sheraton. The order number and year are often shown on a display in the photographs; model numbers are also provided in some cases. Customer names are handwritten on some album pages. Named customers are: Frank E. Anderson (Houston, TX); Berkshire County Savings Bank (Pittsfield, MA); Girls Latin School; T. J. Johnson (Magnolia, MA); Frederick S. Peck; F. H. Stuart (Newton, MA); and F. W. Woolworth (Glen Cove, NY). Digital images of a selection of photographs from the album are attached to this record.
