Multiple layers of wallpaper attached to two fragments of wallboard from the Captain Trask house, Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts. Fragment (A) is covered with six layers of wallpaper. The first layer, probably a floral stripe, is block-printed in red and white with an undetermined ground (circa 1810). The second layer, is a paper with gray stripes with white dots alternating with purple stripes with purple dots (1815-1820). The third layer, is a floral medallion pattern block-printed in pink, red, green and white on green ground (1820-1825). Layer four, is a floral pattern block-printed in white, orange, cream on orange ground (1825-1835). Layer five, is a medallion pattern block-printed in green and gray on gray ground (1830-1840). Layer six, is a paper printed with brown pin dots on polished cream ground (1840-1850). On fragment (B) only layers two and three are present.
