Description

Design drawing titled "Sideboard of Mahogany for Mrs. Arthur Cabot" rendered in pencil on trace. Front and top views are shown. Empire-style rectangular sideboard has two cupboards separated by tier of two drawers and is open beneath drawers. Cupboards have ovolo front corners, fluted pilasters; tapered fluted round legs with rings at top and bottom. Splashboard with curved edge above drawers has central carved scroll motif. String inlay or carved outlining of splashboard, drawers, door panels. Title, dimensions, design notes and "for Mrs. Arthur Cabot" are handprinted in pencil. Also handwritten in pencil is "Sheraton."
