Description

Photo album titled: "Louis XV Sofas, Louis XVI Sofas 14." Title is hand printed in black on front cover; title and volume number are hand printed in black on spine. Album has a beige fabric covering and 68 dark gray pages. Sixteen of the pages are blank. Album contains 53 mounted black-and-white photographs. Photographs are of a variety of sofas manufactured by A. H. Davenport Co., Irving and Casson, and their successor, Irving and Casson - A. H. Davenport Co. The styles of the sofas are described by the compiler of the album as being Louis XV and Louis XVI; however, modern sofa styles are also included. The order number and year are often shown on a display in the photographs; model numbers are also provided in some cases. Customer names are handwritten on some album pages. Named customers are: Allen & Emery (Boston, MA); Mrs. G. B. Cooksey (Walpole, NH); Mrs. Karl Kaufman (Peterborough, NH); Manufacturers and Traders National Bank (Buffalo, NY); Marc Eidlitz & Son (New York, NY); N.Y. and Porto Rico Steamship Co.; Mrs. L.
