Description

Subseries D, Deeds, 1658-1841, undated (bulk, 1793-1841) (#2.10-2.16, OB.3.6), contains land deeds and related extracts from deeds regarding the real estate holdings and lots purchased of Harrison Gray Otis (1765-1848) (including an 1831 listing of real estate holdings, #2.13); a deed to the Isaac Coffin family pew at Trinity Church in Boston, Massachusetts, leased and purchased by Otis (#2.15); burial plots in Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, Massachusetts, for Harrison Gray Otis (1765-1848) and Luther H. Fisher (#2.16); an 1828 letter addressed to the mayor of Boston, regarding the purchase of the Mill Creek property (#2.14); and related real estate accounts. Also included in the subseries is a 1795 unexecuted deed of artist John Singleton Copley (1738-1815) with an amendment from architect Charles Bulfinch (1763-1844) (#2.11). The subseries is arranged alphabetically by topic, and thereunder chronologically.
