Description

Subseries E, Depositions, 1795-1840, undated (#2.17-3.5, OB.1.2, OB.5.6), contains individual depositions and depositions of the Mount Vernon Proprietors (including Charles Bulfinch (1763-1844) and Samuel Cabot) regarding Copley Pasture in Boston, Massachusetts. Also included is a 1795 agreement regarding the sale of Copley Pasture (#3.2); a 1795 letter to Captain Scott (agent for Harrison Gray Otis (1765-1848), Charles Bulfinch (1763-1844), Jonathan Mason, William Scollay, and Joseph Woodward, #3.3); a circa 1836 defendant's statement from the Overseers of the Poor (#3.4) with draft (#OB.3.6); and other related depositions. The subseries is arranged chronologically by depositions of individuals, followed by depositions of the Mount Vernon Proprietors.
