Subseries F, Other legal documents, 1746-1847 (#3.6-3.13, 6.1-6.8, OB.1.7, OB.5.2-OB.5.5, OB.5.7), contains agreements and contracts; conveyances; indentures; legal statements; memoranda; notice; petitions; powers of attorney; site plans; wills; etc.; regarding the sale of Copley Pasture in Boston, Massachusetts. The subseries includes a 1796 agreement of sale between artist John Singleton Copley (1738-1815), Jonathan Mason, and Harrison Gray Otis (1765-1848) (#OB.1.7); an 1847 statement of William Foster Otis (1801-1858), son (#OB.5.4); and the 1796 power of attorney of John Singleton Copley (1738-1815) to his son, John Singleton Copley, Jr. (1772-1863), empowering his son to break the contract with the Mount Vernon Proprietors (#OB.1.7). The subseries is arranged alphabetically by record type, and thereunder chronologically.
