Description

Photo album titled: "Church Screens 34." Title is hand printed in black on front cover; title and volume number are hand printed in black on spine. Album has a beige fabric covering and 70 dark gray pages, some of which are now loose. Seven of the pages are blank. Album contains 71 mounted black-and-white photographs. Photographs are of a variety of church screens manufactured by A. H. Davenport Co., Irving and Casson, and their successor, Irving and Casson - A. H. Davenport Co. Also included are other church furnishings including doors, communion rails and bas-relief carvings of Biblical scenes. The order number and year are often shown in the photographs. Customer names are handwritten on some album pages. Named customers include: All Saints Church (CA); Bethlehem M. E. Church (Cincinnati, OH); Mrs. J. C. Brady (Gladstone, NJ); Nicholas Brady (Roslyn, NY); Cathedral of St. John the Divine (New York, NY); Christ Church; Church of the Heavenly Rest (New York, NY); Church of the Intercession; Reformed Church (Huntingdon, PA); St. Bartholemew's Church (New York, NY); St. Catherine's Church (Somerville, MA); St. Mark's Church (Mt. Kisco, NY): St. Mark's Church (New York, NY); St. Patrick's Cathedral (New York, NY); St. Paul's (Manchester, NH); St. Paul's Church (Baltimore, MD); St. Thomas' Church (New York, NY); St. Vincent's Church (Los Angeles, CA): Trinity Church (New York, NY); and Westminster Presbyterian Church (Albany, NY). Also included in the album are two photomechanical prints of church exteriors that are not part of the work of A. H. Davenport Co., Irving and Casson, or Irving and Casson - A. H. Davenport Co.
