Description

Photo album titled: "Ecclesiastical Figures 39B." Title and volume number are hand printed in black on spine. Album has a beige fabric covering and 94 dark gray pages, some of which are now loose. Two of the pages are blank. Album contains numerous photomechanical images of religious paintings, sculptures, and buildings as well as lithographed holy cards depcting saints. Images may have been used by A. H. Davenport Co., Irving & Casson, and their successor, Irving & Casson - A. H. Davenport Co. as reference material.
Also included in the album are the following loose items: (1) Two pages from a book titled "Modern Religious Painting;" one image cut from an unidentified newspaper; and an invitation, postmarked 02-24-1942, to Ernest Pelligrini from the Liturgical Arts Society, Inc. to participate in a competition for a statue of Christ to be placed in Washington, DC [inside front cover]; (2) pencil sketch of wreath made of leaves with a bow [between pages 20 and 21]; (3) letter from Maginnis & Walsh, postmarked 05-07-1934, to Ernest Pelligrini regarding a pillow pattern [between pages 68 and 69]; and (4) penciled list of company names (American Type, Stone & Webster, El Paso, Goodyear, Virginia Electric, Nash Kelvinator, and First National Bank) and numbers [between pages 82 and 83] which may be stock prices.
None of the items in this album have been digitized.
