Description

Cocked black tri-corner hat (a) of fuzzy wool with edges trimmed with black ribbon and a black rosette at the peak. Gilt piece of strapwork with star with "MONSTRAT VIVM 1741" (b). Woven chin strap (c) and metal button (d). Stored in original blue hatbox see 1922.716.2ab = hat box (blue - bicorne shape) Also enclosed in box with hat: one gilt button with "JUU" (?) on face; and "ROBINSON'S EXTRA" on back. One silver braid attached to red wool.
