Description

Photo album titled: "Day-beds and Chaises 57." Title is hand printed on a round paper label affixed to spine; volume number is also printed on a paper label affixed to spine. Album has a heavy textured dark brown covering and is held together with two metal brads. Album has 66 olive green pages; seventeen of the pages are blank. Album contains 49 mounted and two loose black-and-white photographs. Photographs are of a variety of day-beds and chaise lounges designed and manufactured by A. H. Davenport Co., Irving and Casson, and their successor, Irving and Casson - A. H. Davenport Co. The order number or model number and year are often shown on a display in the photographs. No customer names are included. Two loose items are placed inside the front cover of the album. One is an elevation of a "6 Place Delegates Table" in the Plenary Hall of the United Nations headquarters (New York, NY) by Irving & Casson - A. H. Davenport Co dated January 28, 1964. The other item, marked as received by Irving & Casson - A. H. Davenport Co. on January 22, 1964, is a blueprint copy for a "Type A Mtg Plate" produced by the United Nations Telecommunications Services Devision. Digital images of a selection of photographs from the album and the United Nations plan are attached to this record.
