Description

Photo album titled: "Writing Desks." Title is hand printed on a round paper label affixed to spine. Album has a heavy textured dark brown covering and is held together with two metal brads. Album has 68 olive green pages; sixteen of the pages are blank. Album contains 50 mounted black-and-white photographs. Photographs are of a variety of desks and secretaries manufactured by A. H. Davenport Co., Irving and Casson, and their successor, Irving and Casson - A. H. Davenport Co. Also included in the album are two photographs of a desk repaired but not manufactured by the firms. The order number and year are often shown on a display in the photographs; model numbers are also provided in some cases. Customer names are handwritten on several album pages. Named customers are: Bethlehem Shipbuilding Corp. (Quincy, MA); First National Bank (Boston, MA); F. W. Gurney; and 107th Regiment, Company B. Digital images of a selection of photographs from the album are attached to this record.
