(Coffin) Hyde (1822-1892) from family and friends; professional correspondence sent by Abel Hale Coffin (dates unknown) relating to his profession as a ship's captain; and an 1848 hand-written marriage certificate (including envelope) for Abel Hale Coffin and Julia Ann (Holland) Coffin signed by the rector, John Ward, at Christ Church in Boston, Massachusetts. The series is arranged alphabetically by correspondence received/sent individually, then by correspondence received jointly, followed by the marriage certificate.
