Series VII, Papers of Joseph Coffin (1702-1773), 1728-1828 (#C.1.33-C.1.51, OB.1.11), contains account sheets; general correspondence; loan documents; a promissory note; land deeds for Contoocook (province of New Hampshire, Narragansett, now Buxton, Maine), and Newbury (province of Massachusetts Bay); estate inventories; a property invoice from Coffin's father, Nathaniel Coffin (1669-1748); arrest warrants relating to Coffin's position as Justice of the Peace; petitions and legal documents relating to the sale of delinquent properties associated with Coffin's position as a proprietor's clerk; and Coffin's 1773 will with draft. The series also contains documents regarding the sale of Coffin's property in Maine by Coffin's grandson, Edmund Coffin (1764-1825), which provide names and residencies associated with Coffin's heirs. See #2.1 through 2.3 for related material in the bound account books. The series is arranged alphabetically by record type or activity, and thereunder chronologically.
