Description

Fancy side chair. Painted. Windsor form. Back comprised of three horizontal splats above five turned spindles. Upper splat stencilled with melon and grape designs with freehand black outlining; the ground is yellow; there is a putty-grained rounded seat above 4 outturned legs and plain stretchers. Both legs and stretchers have incised boards. Made at the Newburyport Chair Factory.
