Description

Series III, Commissions, 1906-1936, undated (#1.18-4.36), contains fifty-four of Hanson's commissions which focus on projects for which Hanson was the original architect; projects for which Hanson was the architect for additions or alterations; and projects for which Hanson supervised the plans of other architects. Included in the series are contacts; correspondence; drawings and site plans; invoices; notes; receipts; price lists; and related. The series is arrange in nine subseries. The subseries are arranged starting with commissions in Massachusetts, and then followed by commission in other states and Washington, D.C. Within Massachusetts, folders are arranged alphabetically by city/town, then by name of patron, then by topic, and thereunder chronologically. Gloucester, Massachusetts, is further divided and arranged alphabetically by project or location, then by name of patron, then by topic, and thereunder chronologically. Commissions in other state are arranged alphabetically by state, then by city/town, then by patron, and followed by Washington, D.C.
