Subseries C, Legal documents, 1774-1806 (#1.30-1.32, 1.34), contains civic agreements/ contracts to inspect and repair sections of road; an undated agreement to purchase property; and twelve land parcel deeds bought and sold by Pierce, especially in the years following the American Revolutionary War (1775-1783); Pierce sought to expand his holdings and provide his sons with the means to earn a living and his daughters with dowry portions. The subseries is arranged alphabetically by record type, and thereunder chronologically.
