Subseries B. Legal documents, 1678-1860, undated (#4.11-4.15) includes a deed from William Veazy [also spelled Veazio and Vouzio in the document] to Samuel Tompson, concerning an exchange of land. The transfer of a 5-acre parcel of land to Samuel Tompson is made in exchange for a 3-acre parcel of meadow land from Samuel Sewell. The 5-acre parcel of land is described as formerly bought from William Tompson. The boundaries of the property are described but the jurisdiction in which the land falls is not named; Veazy and Tompson, however, both live in Braintree. Exactly how this deed came into the Pierce family is not known. This series also includes an oath of loyalty to King George III, a discharge of mortgage, a finding of the Supreme Court of Kennebeck County, Maine, and marriage records from the state of Alabama.
