Description

Design drawing titled "Sofa of Mahog. & Inlay for J. G. Cannon" rendered in pencil on trace. Perspective view is shown. Sofa has gently arched and rolled back extending into continuous arms; arm supports with carved rosettes on scrolled top and lotus leaves at base; reverse serpentine curved seat; seat rail with carved ornamentation including blocks with quatrefoils above legs; two tapered square front legs with carved tops; splayed rear legs; and upholstered back, arms and seat. Title, dimensions and "11301" are handwritten on drawing. Also handwritten are "N.Y. Order 8214" and "Order 29163."
