Chippendale-style settee has double-chair back form with serpentine crest rails; rounded shoulders; splats with Gothic tracery piercings; shaped arms with scrolled handholds; C-curved arm supports; seat with over-the-rail upholstery and nail trim at bottom edge; two cabriole front legs terminating in ball-and-claw feet; and four raked back legs. Carved ornamentation includes Rococo-style scrolls and foliage on crest rails, splats and shoulders; volutes on handholds; and acanthus leaves on knees of cabriole legs.
