Description

Design drawing titled "Sofa" rendered in pencil of trace. Perspective view is shown. Chippendale-style settee has three-chair back form; bow-shaped crest rails with central carved shells; protruding ears; pierced splats with central owl-eye design; shaped arms; curved arm supports; upholstered seat with single row of nail trim along bottom edge above straight skirt; four square front legs; four raked rear legs; and H-stretchers. Title, "Somerset Club 45955" and "Nov 1904 P. E. J" are handwritten on drawing. Also handwritten are "Det 494" and "For Chair to Match See Page 13 in No.6 in Chair Book."
