Description

Design drawing titled "Sofa of French Walnut & Gold" rendered in pencil and colored pencil on trace. Perspective view is shown. LouisXVI-style sofa has rectangular back; straight crest rail with carved and gilded central foliate motif; tall arms terminating in scrolled handholds; gilded acanthus carved arm supports; upholstered back, sides, arm rests, and seat; straight seat rail with square blocks at corners; four spiral-turned legs with carved and gilded lotus leaves at top and ovoid feet. Title, "Style Louis XVI" and "Det No. 12455" are handwritten on drawing.
