Description

Design drawing titled "Light Sofa of French Walnut - Cane Seat and Back" rendered in pencil on trace. Perspective view is shown. Neoclassical-style settee has rectangular back with semi-elliptical crest rail; open curved arms terminating in a volute; curved arm supports; D-shaped seat with straight seat rail; caned back and seat; two tapered square front legs terminating in spade feet; raked tapered square rear legs; and inlaid stringing throughout. Title, dimensions, "14265" and "Nov 2, 1912" are handwritten on drawing. Embossed in lower left corner is: "Return to / A. H. Davenport Co. / 96 Washington Street / Boston, MA."
