Description

Design drawing titled "Scheme for Colored Ornament on Marble Door Trim" rendered in watercolor and pencil. Front view is shown. Drawing depicts a marble doorway which has a flat cornice with egg-and-dart molding; upper frieze with egg-and-dart molding; lower frieze with row of rosetttes and bottom Greek key band; and fluted Ionic columns on a stepped base flanking each side of door. Contrasting red and green colors are shown on moldings, Greek key banding, column capitals and column bases. Wall is green and has a deep marble baseboard. Title and scale are handprinted at bottom. Lower edge is emobssed with " Return to / A. H. Davenport Co. / 96 Washington St. / Boston, Mass."
