Sideboard with Mirror

Description

Untitled design drawing rendered in watercolor and pencil and depicting a mirror and sideboard. Front elevation is shown. Octagonal mirror has a wide frame with egg-and-dart molding on exterior edge; gilded scrolls at corners of frame; and gilded molding on interior edge of frame. Handwritten below is mirror is "21395." Renaissance Revival rectangular sideboard has overhanging top with molded edge; one tier of three shallow drawers; back panel and two freestanding front legs extending to stepped molded base. Sideboard has extensive carving including: fluted fronts with foliage on side drawers; foliage on center drawer; corners with protruding Flemish scrolls on each end of drawer tier; fruit, foliage and scrolled feet on front legs; and head of mythologcal figure on knees of legs. Side drawers have bail handles; center drawer has drop pendant handle. Pencil outline of wall and side views of top of leg are very faintly visible. Board has tears and losses on all corners.
