"Cabinet of Oak, Two Like This"

Description

Design drawing with two views titled "Cabinet of Oak (Two like This)"affixed to board. Front view is rendered in pencil and watercolor; side view is in pencil only. The lower portion of the Renaissance Revival cabinet has two paneled doors flanked by carved pilasters. Each cabinet door has a rectangular recessed panel above an octagonal recessed panel. The two rectangular panels are carved with "Anno 1908." The sides have rectangular recessed panels. The top portion of the cabinet is a shorter recessed area with two levels for displaying books; egg-and dart-carving on the top molding; and a supporting carved column at each end. The title, dimensions and "Assembly Room / Second Floor" are hand written on the drawing. Embossed at the lower right corner is "Return To / A. H. Davenport Co. / 96 Washington St. / Boston, Mass."
