Design drawing titled "Painted & Dec. Commode" rendered in pencil on trace. Perspective view is shown. Louis XV-style commode or chest has serpentine curved front; overhanging top with molded edge; case with two drawers; shaped skirt; concave curved sides; cabriole legs; and painted floral decoration over entire case and legs. Title, dimensions and "35949" are handprinted in pencil. Stamped in lower left corner is: "Irving and Casson / A. H. Davenport Co. / Boston - New York." Drawing is mounted on board.
