Description

Design drawing titled "Drop Lid Desk Green & Gold Lacquer" rendered in watercolor and pencil. Perspective view is shown; pencil drawing of closed lid is also shown. Chippendale-style desk has a slanted drop-front; case with three drawers, each with two bail handles on bat-wing plates; and molded base with four bracket feet. Desk is depicted with front open and resting on two lopers. Interior has six arched openings and two shallow drawers; small brass knobs on lopers and interior drawers. Exterior is blue green lacquer; interior is peach with gold decorative motifs over all surfaces. A small pencil drawing in the upper left corner shows the desk lid in the closed position. The title, dimensions, and "450" are handwritten on drawing. Embossed in the lower left corner is "Irving and Casson / A. H. Davenport Co. / Boston - New York."
