Design drawing with two views titled "Sofa of Mahogany." Front view is rendered in pencil and watercolor; side view is in pencil only. Neonclassical or Empire-style sofa has straight crest rail; sides equal to crest rail in height; straight apron; two rear splayed legs; and two front columnar front legs with ball finials and cuffed brass feet. Upholstered back, seat and sides. Ball finial, feet, cuffs and applied decorative motifs on apron are either gilded or metal. Title and dimensions are handprinted in pencil. Embossed on lower left corner is: "Return to / A. H. Davenport Co. / 96 Washington St. / Boston, Mass."
