Design drawing titled "Bureau of Maple with Painted Decoration. Gold Mirror." rendered in pencil and watercolor. Perspective view is shown. Drawing depicts a rectangular gold mirror above a four-drawer chest. Neolassical-style mirror has fluted frame with carved rosette at each corner; central oval cartouche between carved scrolls atop top of frame; cartouche has carved profile of a woman and is topped with three feather motifs. Neoclassical-style chest has narrow backsplash with concave corners; overhanging top with molded edge; one tier of two shallow drawers flanking a center rectangular panel; three tiers of one drawer each; rosette-pulls on all drawers; and spade feet. Chest has various painted decortive motifs including Greek keys on the splashboard, bell flowers on the stiles, and an urn flanked by swags and garlands on the top tier panel.. Title and scale are handwritten in pencil. Embossed in the lower left corner: "Return to / A.H. Davenport Co. / 96 Washington St. / Boston, Mass."
