"Toilet Table of Mahogany"

Description

Design drawing titled "Toilet Table of Mahogany" rendered in pencil and watercolor. Perspective view is shown of Rococo-style toilet table and mirror above. Gilded rectangular mirror frame has a carved and deeply curved top and carved scroll motifs at the bottom corners. Dressing table has a rectangular overhanging top; low backsplash with concave corners which supports the mirror; two shallow drawers on each side with metal bail handles; carved undulating skirt with carved central shell; cabriole legs with ornately carved knees; and scroll feet. Title and dimensions are hand printed in pencil. Stamped at the lower left corner is "Return to A. H. Davenport Co., / 96 Washington St., Boston, Mass." Drawing has been affixed to cardboard.
