Half-tester double bed has headboard with arched broken pediment crest rail, carved rosettes and volutes, and carved basket of foliage and garlands below crest; rectangular footboard with recessed panel; inlay stringing on footboard and side rails; square rear posts which are carved or reeded below headboard and plain above; reeded round front posts with pineapple finials; short vasiform turned front feet with ring turnings; and half-tester frame attached to rear posts. Half-tester is rectangular with semi-elliptical front and flat top and is shown with fabric valance, head curtain and two side curtains. Title, design notes, "Mrs. Franklin MacVeagh" and "Det Oct 13 - 1903 R. B." are handwritten on drawing.
